The Design Network Converges Sports and Design for a First-of-its-Kind Series with Armando Bacot

Published December 1, 2022

This week, The Design Network launches a brand new series featuring UNC Basketball’s starting center, Armando Bacot and up and coming interior designer, Chloe Barbu. For the first time ever, design and sports converge in Going Pro, the story of two students ready to take their careers to the next level. In the pilot episode, UNC Center Armando Bacot gets a home makeover before moving into his new, decked-out pad with the help of amateur designer, Chloe Barbu.

TDN and Furnitureland South collaborated with Armando and Chloe to capture the process of Armando’s room transformation from idea and in-store shopping to installation and reveal. “It’s been so fun to connect the dots of our businesses, family relationships, and one of my passions – UNC basketball – to create something unique and original for The Design Network,” says TDN’s founder and CEO, Jason Harris, “We feel like this format has broad appeal for sports fans and home enthusiasts alike, with of course another jaw-dropping reveal in true TDN style!”

This episode is Chloe Barbu’s big debut as she plans to go pro in interior design upon her graduation from UNC-Chapel Hill. Chloe said, “It’s been an honor to prepare to step into the professional world next to someone I have so much respect for, and I’m looking forward to everyone seeing a side of Armando that you don’t typically get to see.”

You don’t want to miss this first-of-its-kind series! Going Pro premieres Thursday, December 1 at 9/8p Central on The Design Network.
